Kareep has seen a lone menhir sticking out of the earth northwest of Red Larch a few miles. He did not know what it was, but the name is seemingly accurate. Kaylessa Irkell describes it as a rock jutting 20-30 ft out of the ground. She thinks it is the root of all the trouble that has been befalling Red Larch lately. She hired the party to investigate Lance Rock.
Endrith Vallivoe relates the same story the inn’s keeper told. though, at the end of it, he says others tell a different story. He says some say there was a giant battle ages ago. The king of the giants grabbed a huge spear of granite and threw it with such might that it pierced his enemy and flew for another 40 miles before embedding itself in the limestone landscape where it now resides. The rock stands at a 60-degree angle, angled towards the hills, the direction of the giant’s toss.
